Even though I took a break from writing on this blog, I haven’t taken a break from writing all-together. I promise! There have been several changes to our lives in the last 7 months that I am so excited to tell you about! They include:
- I have been writing weekly devotionals and leading an ESL (English-as-a-second-language) class of about 100 students to know more about Jesus each week since September 2013. I LOVE it, as these international adults have come from all corners of the globe to our little community of Jacksonville. Some came to the US for jobs, some came for family, and some are refugees. There is at least 30 different languages spoken, but we have all been united under one language, although each of their sweet accents just melt my heart. I promise I’ll tell you more about that in a new blog post soon! In the mean time, the following is the last devotional I wrote for this ESL semester.
- Jesse and I reached a major goal that we have been working for 6 1/2 years in our business. Lots of work, but oh the freedom to not have to answer to a boss or an alarm clock, to not struggle with finances any more, to spend abundant time with my best friend and my Savior, and to look at the “big picture” of what we can do with our time and energy the rest of our lives to glorify our God. The full story coming soon…
- Another life-changing event has rocked our world. This is an event I have prayed for for 4 years or more. It’s something that was one of the hardest struggles Jesse and I have ever gone through. It broke my heart waiting, but brought me ever so much closer to my God, who is FAITHFUL. For 2 full years we have been actively trying to start our family and have a baby. About a year ago, we started seeing a fertility Dr. We had lots of tests, but nothing was wrong…other than the fact that I wasn’t pregnant. Finally, we decided to do IVF. Again, Praise God for our business, we were able to pay cash for that VERY expensive process. Today, as I write this, I AM 16 WEEKS PREGNANT with our little Blueberry! Praise God, Praise God, Praise God! I promise, I will of course write more about that in future (soon-coming) posts.
And now you know the season of life we are in. We are praising God, and expectant and eager for this new chapter in our lives. After being MIA for so long, I think I have a lot to write about again. And I’m excited!
